Welcome !

Thank you for purchasing the Sony
Cassette-Corder.
This Cassette-Corder is equipped with
a REC TIME/PLAY MODE switch
that lets you record double the normal
length on any cassette.

Note
Tapes recorded with the REC TIME/
PLAY MODE switch in the DOUBLE
position cannot be played properly on
a tape recorder without the REC
TIME/PLAY MODE switch function.

Getting Started

Preparing a Power
Source

Choose one of the following power
sources.

Dry Batteries (see Fig. A-A)

Make sure that nothing is connected
to the DC IN 3V jack.

Open the battery compartment
lid.

Insert two R6 (size AA)
batteries (not supplied) with
correct polarity and close the
lid.

Notes
• Do not charge a dry battery.
• Do not use a new battery with an old

one.

• Do not use different types of

batteries.

• When you do not use the unit for a

long time, remove the batteries to
avoid any damage caused by battery
leakage and subsequent corrosion.

• Dry batteries will not be drained

when another power source is
connected.

To take out the batteries
(see Fig. A-B)

To attach the battery
compartment lid if it is
accidentally detached (see
Fig. A-C)

When to replace the
batteries (see Fig.A-D)

Replace the batteries with new ones
when the E lamp flashes.
The BATT and E lamps change as
illustrated.

Notes
• During FF(CUE) or REW(REVIEW),

the E lamp may flash. Only when
the tape does not run properly,
replace the batteries.

• After the batteries have been used

for a while, the BATT and E lamps
may flicker during playback if the
volume is turned up. This is,
however, not an indication for the
batteries to be replaced.

• The unit will play back normally for

a while even after the E lamp
flashes. You should, nonetheless,
replace the batteries as soon as
possible. Otherwise, the built-in
speaker may emit a loud noise and
recordings may not be made
correctly.

• The E lamp may flash momentarily

at beginning of playback or the end
of the tape. If the flashing stops right
away, you do not need to replace the
batteries.

Connect the AC power adaptor to
DC IN 3V and to a wall outlet. Use
the AC-E30HG AC power adaptor
(not supplied). (For Japan, use AC-
E30L, not supplied.) Do not use any
other AC power adaptor.

• Specifications for AC-E30HG vary

for each area. Check your local
voltage and the shape of the plug
before purchasing.

• Do not touch the AC power adaptor

with wet hands.

• Connect the AC power adaptor to an

easily accessible AC outlet. Should
you notice an abnormality in the AC
power adaptor, disconnect it from
the AC outlet immediately.

Operating the Unit

Recording

(see Fig. B-A, B)

You can record right away with the
built-in microphone.
Make sure that nothing is connected
to the MIC jack.
Place the unit on a hard surface
such as a desk with the cassette
holder side up so that the flat mic
can record effectively.

Press the counter reset button
to reset the TAPE COUNTER.

Note
The number in the

TAPE

COUNTER will increase when
playing back the forward side,
and decrease when playing back
the reverse side.

Insert a normal (TYPE I) tape
with the side to be recorded
facing the cassette holder.

Set REC TIME/PLAY MODE to
the desired mode.
NORMAL (4.8cm/s): for
optimum sound.
Recommended for normal
recordings.
DOUBLE (2.4cm/s): for double
recording time (for example,
120 minutes using both sides of
a 60-minute cassette). Suitable
for recording conferences,
dictations, etc. Not
recommended for recording
music.

Choose recording sides.
To record on both sides:
Slide n DIR N to FWD.

Recording will start from
the side facing the cassette
holder window (forward
side) and switches
automatically to the reverse
side at the end of the side
(Auto Reverse).

To record on a single side:
Slide n DIR N to REV.

Recording will start from
the side facing the unit
(reverse side).

Set VOR to ON to start and
pause recording automatically
depending on the loudness of
the sound.

Set VOR to OFF to start and
stop recording manually.

Note
When the sound to be recorded is
not loud enough, set the VOR
switch to OFF, or the unit may
not start recording.

To monitor the sound

Connect an earphone (not supplied)
firmly to the EAR jack.
The sound is fixed. You cannot
adjust monitoring volume with
VOL. The recording level is not
affected.

Notes
• Do not use a High-position (TYPE II)

or metal (TYPE IV) tape. If you do
so, the sound may be distorted when
you play back the tape, or the
previous recording may not be
erased completely.

• The SPEED CONTROL switch (see

reverse side) works in the playback
mode only. Recording will be made
independent of this control.

Notes on recording sides
• When recording on both sides,

recording will not be made for a few
seconds while the tape is switching
sides.

• When you open the cassette holder,

the direction of the tape is reset to
the forward side.

• The n DIR N switch cannot be

used during recording.

Notes on VOR (Voice Operated
Recording)
• The VOR system is affected by the

environmental recording conditions.
When you use the system in a noisy
place, the unit will stay in the
recording mode. If the sound is too
soft, on the contrary, the unit will
not start recording.
If you cannot get the results you
want, set it to OFF.

• The VOR system may not record the

beginning of the sound you want to
record because it starts recording
only after it catches the sound. For
an important recording, set it to
OFF.

To prevent a tape from
being accidentally recorded
over (see Fig. B-C)

Break off and remove the cassette
tabs. To reuse the tape for
recording, cover the tab hole with
adhesive tape.

본 카세트 코더는 어떤 카세트 테이프이
든 통상의 2배 녹음 가능한 REC TIME/
PLAY MODE 스위치를 갖추고 있습니
다.

주의점
REC TIME/PLAY MODE 스위치를
DOUBLE 위치로 해서 녹음한 테이프는
REC TIME/PLAY MODE 스위치 기능
이 없는 테이프 레코더에서는 정상으로 재
생되지 않습니다.

시작하기 전에

전원의 준비

다음의 전원에서 한가지를 선택하여 주
십시오.

건전지

(그림 A-A 참조)

DC IN 3V 잭에 아무 것도 접속되어 있
지 않은지 확인하여 주십시오.

전지실 커버를 엽니다.

R6(AA 사이즈) 건전지(별매품) 2
개를 바른 방향으로 넣고, 커버를 닫
습니다.

주의점
• 건전지에는 충전하지 마십시오.
• 새 건전지와 쓰던 건전지를 함께 사용하

지 마십시오.

• 종류가 다른 건전지를 함께 사용하지 마

십시오.

• 본기를 장기간 사용하지 않을 때에는 건

전지의 누액에 의한 부식을 방지하기 위
하여 건전지를 꺼내 놓도록 하십시오.

• 다른 전원을 사용하고 있을 때에는 건전

지는 소모되지 않습니다.

건전지를 꺼내려면(그림 A-B 참조)

빠진 전지실 커버를 장착하려면(그
림 A-C 참조)

건전지의 교환시기(그림 A-D 참조)

램프가 점멸하면 전지를 새 것으로

교환하여 주십시오.
BATT와 E 램프는 그림과 같이 바뀝
니다.

주의점
• FF(CUE) 또는 REW(REVIEW)의 조

작 중에, E 램프가 점멸하는 경우가 있습
니다. 그런 경우에는 테이프가 정상으로
주행하지 않을 때에만 전지를 교환하여
주십시오.

• 전지를 한동안 사용한 후에 음량을 높이

면 재생 중에 BATT와 E 램프가 점멸하
는 경우가 있습니다. 그것은 배터리의 교
환을 나타내는 것이 아닙니다.

• E 램프가 점멸하기 시작해도 한동안 문

제없이 본기에서 재생할 수 있습니다. 단
전지는 되도록 빨리 교환하여 주십시오.
그렇지 않으면 내장 스피커에서 큰 잡음
이 들리거나 바르게 녹음되지 않을 경우
가 있습니다.

• 재생의 시작이나 마지막 부분에서 E 램

프가 한순간 점멸하는 경우가 있습니다.
점멸이 바로 정지되었을 때에는 전지를
교환할 필요가 없습니다.

AC 전원 어댑터를 DC IN 3V 잭과 콘
센트에 접속합니다. 다른 모델에는 AC
전원 어댑터 AC-E30HG(별매)를 사
용하여 주십시오. (일본 국내에서 사용
할 경우에는 별매 AC-E30L을 사용하
여 주십시오.) 이것 이외의 AC 전원 어
댑터는 사용하지 마십시오.

플러그의 극성

주의점
• AC-E30HG의 제원은 지역에 따라 다

릅니다. 구입하시기 전에 사용하실 지역
의 전압과 플러그의 형상을 확인하여 주
십시오.

• AC 전원 어댑터는 젖은 손으로 만지지 마

십시오.

• AC 전원 어댑터는 사용하기 편리한 AC

콘센트에 연결하여 주십시오. AC 전원
어댑터에 이상이 생겼을 때에는 AC 콘센
트에서 즉시 빼 주십시오.

본 기기 조작하기

녹음

-A, B 참조)

내장 마이크로폰을 사용하여 바로 녹음
할 수 있습니다.
MIC 잭에 아무것도 접속되어 있지 않았
음을 확인하여 주십시오.
플랫 마이크가 효과적으로 녹음할 수 있
도록, 본기는 카세트 홀더측을 위로 하여
책상 등의 단단한 면에 올려 놓아 주십시
오.

카운터 리세트 버튼을 눌러 TAPE
COUNTER를 리세트합니다.

주의점
앞면을 재생하면 TAPE COUNTER
의 숫자는 점점 커지고, 뒷면을 재생하
면 숫자는 점점 작아집니다.

노멀(TYPE I) 테이프를 녹음을
시작하고 싶은 면을 카세트 홀더 측
이 되도록 넣습니다.

REC TIME/PLAY MODE을 원
하는 모드로 세트합니다.
NORMAL(4.8cm/s): 음질이 양
호합니다. 통상 녹음시에 적합합니
다.
DOUBLE(2.4cm/s): 녹음시간이
배로 늘어납니다.(예를 들어 60 분
용 카세트 테이프의 양면을 사용했
을 경우 120분) 회의 녹음, 구술용
녹음 등에 적합합니다. 음악 녹음에
는 적합하지 못합니다.

녹음할 면을 선택합니다.
양면에 녹음하려면:

DIR N를 FWD로 밀어 주십

시오.

녹음은 카세트 홀더창의 면(앞
면)부터 시작되고 그 면의 마지
막 부분에서 자동으로 뒷면으
로 전환됩니다.(오토 리버스)

한쪽 면에만 녹음하려면:
n

DIR N를 REV로 밀어 주십시

오.

녹음은 본기측(뒷면)부터 시
작됩니다.

VOR을 ON으로 설정하면 사운드
의 크기에 따라 자동으로 녹음이 시
작되고 일시정지됩니다.

수동 조작으로 녹음을 시작하고 정
지하려면 VOR을 OFF로 설정하
여 주십시오.

주의점
녹음할 사운드의 크기가 충분하지 못
하면 본기에서는 녹음이 시작되지 않
으므로 VOR스위치를 OFF로 하여
주십시오.

REC를 누릅니다.

PLAY가 동시에 눌러지고

녹음이 시작됩니다.
테이프의 주행 중에는 REC 램프가
소리의 크기에 따라 점등 또는 점멸
합니다.

뒷면의 마지막 부분이 되면 녹음이 정지
되고 본기의 전원은 자동으로 꺼집니다.

레벨은 변하지 않습니다.

주의점
• 하이포지션( T Y P E I I ) 또는 메탈

(TYPE IV) 테이프는 사용하지 마십시
오. 테이프를 재생할 때에 소리가 일그러
지거나 이전의 녹음 내용이 완전히 소거
되지 않을 경우가 있습니다.

• SPEED CONTROL 스위치(뒷면 참

조)는 재생 중에만 작동합니다. 녹음은 이
속도의 설정과 관계없습니다.

녹음하는 면에 관한 주의
• 양면에 녹음할 때에는 테이프 면이 전환

되는 몇 초간은 녹음되지 않습니다.

• 카세트 홀더를 열면 테이프의 방향이 앞

면으로 리세트됩니다.

• 녹음 중에는 n DIR N스위치는 사용

할 수 없습니다.

VOR(Voice Operated Recording)
에 관한 주의
• VOR 시스템은 주위의 녹음 조건에 따라

영향을 받습니다. 시끄러운 장소에서 시
스템을 사용하면 본기는 녹음이 끝나지
않습니다. 소리가 너무 작을 때에는 반대
로 녹음이 시작되지 않습니다.
원하는 결과를 얻을 수 없을 때에는 OFF
로 설정하여 주십시오.

• VOR 시스템은 사운드를 검지한 후 녹음

이 시작되므로 녹음하고 싶은 사운드의
첫부분을 녹음할 수 없는 경우가 있습니
다. 중요한 녹음을 할 때는 OFF로 설정하
여 주십시오.

실수로 테이프의 내용을 소거하는
것을 방지하려면
(그림 B-C 참조)
카세트 테이프의 탭을 제거하여 주십시
오. 테이프는 다시 한번 녹음하려면 탭
구멍을 테이프로 막아 주십시오.

開始

準備電源

選擇下列電源之一使用。

乾電池（參看圖 A-A）

確認 DC IN 3V 插孔沒有連接。

打開電池室蓋。

裝入兩個 R6（AA，3 號）電池

（無附帶），注意裝對極性，然後

關上蓋子。

註
• 不可試圖給乾電池充電。
• 不可混用新、舊電池。
• 不可混用不同型式的電池。
• 長期不使用機器時，請卸下電池保

存，以免因電池漏液腐蝕損壞機器。

• 當接用其他電源使用時，並不消耗裝

在機器內的乾電池。

要取出電池時（參看圖 A-B）

要安裝因意外掉下來的電池室蓋時

（參看圖 A-C）

何時須更換電池（參看圖 A-D）

當 E 指示燈閃爍著時即請更換

新電池。

BATT 和 E 指示燈將作如下圖所

示的變化。

註
• FF (CUE)（進繞（提示））或 REW

(REVIEW)（倒繞（回顧））中，E
指示燈可能會起閃爍。請僅在磁帶走
帶不順狀態時才進行更換電池。

• 電池用了一段時間之後，在播放中如

果轉大了音量，BATT 和 E 燈可能會
起閃爍。這並不表示必須即行更換電
池。

• 即使在 E 指示燈起閃爍之後，機器

仍可正常地播放片刻。盡管如此，您
仍須盡早換新電池。否則，內裝揚聲
器便可能發生大噪聲，錄音也可能變
得不準確。

• E 燈可能在播放開頭或磁帶終端閃爍

片刻。如果閃爍很快就停止了，便不
必更換電池。

轉接器。

有異常，即請立即自 AC 插座上拔下。

操作機器

錄音

（參看圖 B-A，B)

利用內裝麥克風，可以立即錄

音。

確認 MIC（麥克風）插孔是否沒

連接著任何裝置。

請將機器放在例如桌面等結實的

平面上並讓卡帶座的一面朝上，如此
則扁平麥克風便可更有效地進行錄
音。

按下 TAPE COUNTER（計數器）重
調按鈕以重調磁帶計數器。

註
播放進繞面時，TAPE COUNTER 的數
字增大、播放倒繞面時，則減少。

裝入標準 (TYPE Ⅰ) 磁帶讓要開
始錄音的一面朝磁帶座方向。

將 REC TIME/PLAY MODE 設定於所
要模式。
NORMAL（4.8 cm 秒）：音質最
佳。適用於普通的錄音。
DOUBLE（2.4 cm 秒）

：雙倍錄音

時間（例如用 60 分鐘磁帶兩面
錄音，可錄 120 分鐘）。適用於
會議，口授等錄音。最好不用於
錄音樂。

選擇錄音面。
要錄雙面時
把 n DIR N 滑到 FWD。

錄音將從朝卡帶托架窗的一
面開始（進繞面）而當走帶

所要錄的聲音不夠大時，請將 VOR
開關設定於 OFF，否則機器可能不
會開始錄音。

走帶中，REC 指示燈將點亮並隨
聲音的強弱而起閃爍。

當磁帶錄到倒繞面終端時，即停

止錄音而機器將自動地關掉電源。

要監聽聲音時

將耳機（無附帶）接穩到 EAR 插

孔上。

聲音大小是固定的。不能用 VOL

調節監聽音量。錄音電平不受影響。

註
• 別使用高位 (TYPE Ⅱ) 或金屬 (TYPE

Ⅳ) 磁帶。用這類磁帶錄音，當播放
時，聲音可能會失真，或二次錄音
時，可能不能抹除舊錄音。

• SPEED CONTROL（速度控制）開關（參

看倒繞面）只有在放音模式時起作
用。錄音將與此開關無關。

錄音面須知
• 雙面錄音時，在磁帶換面頃刻，將有

幾秒鐘不能錄音。

• 當打開了磁帶盒時，磁帶走帶方向將

重調為進繞面。

• 錄音中，n DIR N 開關是不能使用

的。

VOR（語聲控制錄音）須知
• VOR 系統受錄音環境條件的影響。當

在嘈雜的地方使用此系統時，機器將
停留於錄音模式。相反地，如果聲音
太柔和，機器便不能開始錄音。
如果不能獲所要求的結果，即請把它
設定於 OFF。

• VOR 系統可能不能錄到所需要的開頭

的聲音，因為它必須等感應到聲音時
才開始錄音。進行重要錄音時，請把
它設定於 OFF。

為防止磁帶意外重複錄音

（參看圖 B-C）

請折除磁式磁帶上的翼片。當要

重新利用磁帶錄音時，可用黏膠帶蓋
住翼片孔。
