Setting the Baud Rate
When controlling the printer with a computer connected 
to the printer’s RS-232C connector, select the 
appropriate baud rate. For details, contact your nearest 
Sony dealer.

Display the SYSTEM SETUP menu from the 
PRINTER SETUP menu.

Select the BAUD RATE item, then select the 
desired baud rate by pressing the 
G or g button.
Displaying the Type and Remaining 
Amount of the Ink Ribbon
You can always display the type of the ink ribbon and the 
amount remaining on the video monitor.
Note
Use the ribbon remaining display as a criterion. The 
correct amount remaining may not be displayed when 
you replace the ink ribbon that has been partially used. 
Also, when you load the ink ribbon and paper supplied 
with the printer, the display is not correct.

Display the OUTPUT SETUP menu.

Select the RBN REMAIN item, then select whether 
or not the type of ink ribbon and the amount 
remaining are to be displayed on the monitor.
Ink ribbon information
Registering a User Set
You can store up to three settings of all the printer 
specifications set or adjusted by using the buttons or the 
menu, and store those settings as a user set. The printer 
retains these setting - even if you turn off the power. 
Thus, different operators can make printouts with 
different settings by recalling the appropriate user set.
If the data of the recalled user set is modified, the printer 
operates according to the modified data. In such a case, 
the modified data remains effective until another user set 
is recalled on the PRINTER SETUP menu, even if you 
turn off the power.
After you finish all of the required settings, proceed as 
follows to register them as a user set.
Note
If the user set is changed, all images stored in memory 
will be cleared.

Display the SYSTEM SETUP menu from the 
PRINTER SETUP menu.
If you want to name a user set, go to step 2.
If you do not want to name a user set, go to step 4.

Select the USER NAME item, then press the 
button.
The USER NAME menu appears.
