USB Port

Power off your computer

Do not shut down using the suspend* or hibernation mode.

Connect the USB device to your computer
Using USB Devices
When a USB device is connected, there are cases the suspend* or hiberna-
tion function will not operate in a normal manner due to the USB device.  In
addition, a USB device may have to be removed temporarily and the com-
puter restarted in cases where the computer is unable to start up properly.
You may need to install a driver for your USB devices (for Windows 98).
Follow the on-screen instructions and refer to the operation manual for USB
devices on how to install the driver.
After [Add New Hardware Wizard] is completed:

In [Start] - [Run], type [c:\util\usbroot.bat] and then press [OK].
Follow the on-screen instructions.

When [Finished] is displayed in the title bar, press 
 in the top right cor-
ner of the Window.

Disconnect the USB device, then connect the USB device again.
When [Add New Hardware Wizard] is displayed, install a driver for your
USB device again.
* With Windows 98, the “Suspend” is called “Standby”.
