For manual tracking adjustment
The 

I and J buttons are used to adjust the

tracking when, for example, noise bars on the
picture during normal playback are better
removed manually than by automatic digital
tracking control. To return to automatic digital
tracking control, press both buttons together.

For slow tracking adjustment
When noise bars appear during still or slow
playback, switch over to slow playback and
adjust with the 

I and J button to reduce

the noise bars.

For vertical locking adjustment
Use the 

I and J buttons to minimize any

vertical jitter during still picture playback.

Set VCR/TV switch to VCR for using the 

I

and 

J buttons of remote controller.

Other Automatic Functions

When a video cassette without an erasure
prevention tab is inserted, the VCR starts
playback automatically.

When the VCR is off, an inserted video
cassette can be played back by pressing PLAY
1

.

When the tape reaches its end during recording
(except for timer recording) or playback, it will
automatically be rewound to the beginning.
During OTR, this function will not work.

When the VCR is switched off, an inserted
video cassette can be ejected by simply
pressing < EJECT. The VCR will eject the
video cassette and automatically turn itself off
again.

On this VCR you can play back tapes recorded
with the NTSC system and view them on a
PAL-N TV set system.

The playback picture may move up or down.
If the TV set is equipped with a V-HOLD
control, it may be possible to stop the picture
adjusting this control.

Depending on the TV set used, the picture
may appear in black and white. However, this
is not a malfunction.
