Use normal position tapes.
High position and metal position tapes can be used, but the unit 
will not be able to record or erase them correctly.
Preparation:
1.  Wind up the leader tape so recording can begin immediately.
2.  Press [TAPE w q] and then [g, STOP].

  Press deck 2 [OPEN ;] on the main unit and 
insert the cassette to be recorded.

The tape direction is automatically set to F q.

  Press and hold [PLAY MODE] to select the 
reverse mode.

One side only records.

Both sides record (forward   reverse)
While recording, if a track is cut off in the middle 
at the end of the front side, it is re-recorded from 
the beginning on the reverse side.
At the end of the reverse side, recording stops 
and the current track will be interrupted.
 
•  “$” automatically changes to “ /” when you start 
recording.

  Select the source to be recorded.
Radio
Tune to the required station. (
 The radio, page 23 )
Disc(s)
 
Insert the disc(s) you want to record.
 
Press [DVD/CD q] and then [g, STOP]
  • 
Recording specific disc(s) or tracks
 
Program the tracks (
 Program play, page 14)
Tape 
 
Press [TAPE w q] and then [g,STOP]
 
Press deck 1 [; OPEN] on the main unit and 
insert the cassette you want to record.

  Press [*, RECORD] on the main unit to start 
recording.
To stop recording
Press [g, STOP]
If the tape finishes before the disc
The disc continues playing. Press [g, STOP] to stop it.
Recording

  Press [TAPE w q] and then [g, STOP].

  Eject the tape (if any) from deck 1.

  Insert the recorded tape into deck 2.

  Press and hold [PLAY MODE] to select the 
reverse mode.

  Press [*, RECORD] on the main unit.
Erasing recordings
Erasure prevention
Use a screwdriver or similar object to break out the tab.
To record on the tape again, cover the hole with adhesive tape.

Note
Multi-channel sources are automatically down-mixed to 2 
channels during recording.
The volume, sound field and quality have no effect on 
recording.
You cannot open deck 1 while recording.
You cannot fast-forward or rewind one deck while recording 
with the other.
