SUGGESTED TOOLS FOR INSTALLATION:
3/8" ratchet set with SAE and metric sockets
9/16” and 15mm wrenches
Jackstands and jack
Liquid penetrant and rubber lubricant
DISASSEMBLY
1.
Raise vehicle and support with proper jackstands for the weight, leaving the suspension hanging.
2.
Use caution around hot exhaust systems to avoid burns.
3.
Use penetrating oil on all nuts and bolts.
4.
Remove the bolts and clamps from the system and lubricate the rubber hangers.
5.
Use a long pry bar to pull the rubber hangers off of the pipe hangers.
6.
Remove the old system.  In some cases, you will find it easier to cut the overaxle pipe to remove
it.  Note:  On some vehicles, the removal of the straight pipe behind the cat-converter will not be
necessary.  The new I-pipe will slip onto the outlet of the pipe that is changed onto the cat-
converter of your truck.  This can be determined by laying the cat-back system out next to or
under your truck to compare length.
ASSEMBLY
1.
Clamp the intermediate pipe to the catalytic converter with the 2-1/2” U-clamp and just snug them
so you can adjust the pipe easily on the catalytic.  Make sure that you have engaged the stock
rubber hanger with the wire hanger welded to the pipe.
2.
Slip the muffler onto the intermediate pipe with a 3” clamp on the front.  The offset of the muffler
is the (rear) outlet.  Snug the clamp so you can adjust the pipes.
3.
Install a 3” U-clamp hanger assembly on the front of the overaxle pipe and engage it into the
stock rubber hangers as you slip it into the muffler.  Snug the clamps, remove front tailpipe rubber
insulator.
4.
Slip tailpipe on overaxle pipe.  Install hanger strap over 3” clamp “U” bolt.  See Figure 1.  Snug
clamp with hanger strap and slip hanger bolt through strap and the next rubber insulator, using
supplied fender washer and nyloc nut snug hanger bolt.  Remove rubber hanger toward front of
truck.  Note:  This hanger can be used as an adjustment point.  Adjust hanger for best clearance.
5.
Working from the front of the system, align and tighten each pipe from the cat-back.
6.
Check for clearance to body, frame, and driveline as you tighten the system from front to rear.
7.
Check for leaks and correct if any is found.
WARNING:  Exhaust gas contains carbon monoxide, a deadly invisible gas.  Correct any
leaks before driving!
