Practical Tips, Emergency Service
 Warning!
Risk of damage to the structure of the
carbon fiber chassis/body, if the jumper
cables are not connected to the jump
starting points provided.
f Do not use carbon fiber parts, surfaces, run-
ning-gear parts or metal inserts in the carbon
fiber as the ground conductor. Only connect
jumper cabels to the jump starting points pro-
vided.
The positive terminal for jump starting is located
between the right air cleaner and fuse box.
– The grounding point for jump starting is located
on the transmission behind the right drive shaft.
Connect jumper cables in the following
sequence:
1. On a vehicle with a discharged battery: turn off
all consumers and accessories, move the gear
shift lever into the neutral position and set the
parking brake.
2. Open the cap of the positive terminal for jump
starting (+).
3. Attach the positive cable first to the positive
terminal for jump starting (+),
then to the positive terminal of the booster bat-
tery.
4. Connect the negative cable first to the nega-
tive terminal of the booster battery, then to the
grounding point for jump starting ().
5. Run the engine of the booster car at a higher
speed.
6. Start the engine.
An attempted start using jumper cables should
not last more than 15 seconds. Then allow a
waiting period of at least one minute.
7. With the engine running, disconnect both jump-
er cables in reverse order.
Close the lid of the jump start box.
Note
A completely discharged battery can have tempo-
rary effects on the driving and idling characteris-
tics after the car is started again.
