Practical Tips, Emergency Service
Pulling vehicle onto flatbed carrier
When loading the vehicle, make sure the vehicle is
on an even surface.
When loading a vehicle with defective tires, it is
highly recommended to use additional suitable
ramping because of reduced ground clearance.
1. Lower the flatbed of the car carrier completely,
fasten the winch wire rope to the front towing
eye.
2. Position the necessary wooden ramps A at the
base of the flatbed in the track width of the ve-
hicle to reduce the angle of the pull.
3. Reel in the winch wire rope and check the un-
derside of the vehicle for any interference.
4. Tighten the winch wire rope slowly and observe
the underside of the vehicle and the front spoil-
er for possible contact with the ground or the
bed.
5. While loading, adjust the bed angle as neces-
sary to avoid contacting the vehicle.
6. Secure the vehicle on the car carrier using ny-
lon wheel strap tie-downs.
Lowering the vehicle from the car carrier
bed
1. Lower the flatbed completely, and position
ramping in the track width of the vehicle at the
edge of the bed.
2. Slowly unroll the winch wire rope under tension
and carefully lower the vehicle. While doing so,
observe the underside of the vehicle and the
front spoiler for possible contact with the
ground or the bed.
3. When the rear wheels touch the ground, adjust
the bed angle as necessary to avoid
contacting the vehicle.
4. After the vehicle has been lowered completely,
carefully remove the winch line hook and
towing eye. Return the towing eye to the left
storage compartment of the engine compart-
ment.
