Loading discs

Press OPEN/CLOSE
/ on the set to open the drawer.
OPENING is displayed, the display moves up and the
drawer is opened.
TRAY OPEN is displayed.

Insert a disc (printed side up) in the tray.
Note:The labels of DVD-Video discs which are recorded on
both sides are placed in the middle of the disc. Make sure the
label of the side you want to play is facing up.

Press OPEN/CLOSE
/ on the set again or press
PLAY/PAUSEÉÅ on the remote control.
CLOSING is displayed, the drawer is closed and the
display moves down.
READING is displayed.
Depending on the type of disc you inserted, playback starts
either automatically and the title number, the chapter
number and the actual elapsed playing time are displayed
or you have to press different buttons first (see following
chapters about playback for detailed information).
Playing a DVD-Video disc

Switch your TV set on. If necessary set the TV to the
correct audio/video channel for the DVD recorder system.
Such channels may be called AUX or AUXILIARY IN,
AUDIO/VIDEO or A/V IN, EXT1, EXT2 or EXTERNAL IN,
etc..These channels are often near channel 00.

Load a DVD-Video disc in the tray.

If playback does not start automatically, press
PLAY/PAUSEÉÅ to start playback.
Playback starts, the title number, the chapter number and
the actual elapsed playing time are displayed.
Notes:
If the child lock was activated for the inserted disc,
PIN will
be displayed (see “Activating and deactivating the child lock”).
If a menu appears use 
43or or press the
appropriate numerical key on the remote control to select a
menu option. Press 
OK to confirm.

Press STOP 
9 to stop playback.
The total number of titles and the total playing time are
displayed.

To interrupt playback press PLAY/PAUSEÉÅ again.
The current title number, the current chapter number
and the time where playback was interrupted are
displayed.

To resume playback press PLAY/PAUSEÉÅ again.
Note: Some DVD discs are manufactured in such a way that
either a specific operation is required or specific functions only
are possible during playback. When 
appears on the TV
screen, the selected function is not available.
Region code information
As DVD movies are usually not released at the same time
in all regions of the world, all DVD players are keyed to a
specific region code and discs can have an optional region
code. If the region code of the loaded disc is different to
the region code of this DVD recorder system playback will
not be possible.
The region code of this DVD recorder system (region
code 2) is stated on a label on the back of the set.
Regional coding is not applicable for recordable DVD discs.
Disc menu
The disc menu offers you additional information contained
on the DVD disc.

Press DISC MENU on the remote control during playback.
The menu appears on the screen (on some DVD discs the
menu may appear after a short introduction sequence).

Use 
4, 3, 1 or 2 on the remote control to select the
desired information or press the appropriate numerical key
on the remote control.

Press OK on the remote control to confirm.
