Child lock (DVD-Video discs,
(Super) Video CDs, DVD+R discs,
DVD+RW discs only)
This feature enables you to lock discs for children. If a child
locked disc is loaded, it can only be played if a 4-digit code
(pincode) is entered. In addition you can choose if the
loaded child locked disc can be played always or only once.
Activating and deactivating the child lock

Switch your TV set on. If necessary set the TV to the
correct audio/video channel. Such channels may be called
AUX or AUXILIARY IN, AUDIO/VIDEO or A/V IN, EXT1,
EXT2 or EXTERNAL IN, etc.These channels are often near
channel 00.

Press 2 to switch on the DVD recorder system.

Load the disc to be child locked in the tray.

Press SYSTEM MENU on the remote control.
The system menu bar appears.

Press 
1 on the remote control as often as necessary until

is selected.

4 or 3 on the remote control as often as necessary
until w Features is selected.

2 on the remote control to confirm the selection.

2 on the remote control to confirm the selected line

Use the numerical keys on the remote control to enter a
4-digit code.

Enter the same code again as confirmation.

4 or 3 on the remote control as often as necessary
until the line Child lock is selected.

2 on the remote control to confirm the selection.

4 or 3 on the remote control as often as necessary
to select either:

: to activate the child lock,
or

: to deactivate the child lock.

Press OK on the remote control to confirm the selection.
If was selected:
From now on the loaded disc can only be played after
entering the 4-digit code.
If was selected:
The child lock is deactivated.

Press SYSTEM MENU on the remote control to switch off
the system menu bar.
Authorising a disc

Switch your TV set on. If necessary set the TV to the
correct audio/video channel. Such channels may be called

The access control box will appear after a short while.

4 or 3 on the remote control as often as necessary
to select either:
Play once:The disc is authorised for single playback only. If
the DVD recorder system is switched off, the 4-digit code
must be entered again.
Play always:The disc is authorised for playback and is
stored in a memory with space for 50 child-safe discs. If
more than 50 discs are stored, the “oldest” disc in the list
will be removed and the new disc will be added.
Child safe appears on the screen when playback is
started.

Use the numerical keys on the remote control to enter the
4-digit code.
Notes:
Each side on a double-sided DVD-Video disc may have a
marking (ID number). In this case each side must be
authorised separately.
Each volume on a multi-volume (Super) Video CD disc may
have a marking. In this case each volume must be authorised
separately.
Locking authorised discs
This feature enables you to lock a disc that was formerly
authorised.

Load a disc in the tray.
Playback starts. If it does not, press PLAY/PAUSEÉÅ.

As soon as m appears on the screen press STOP.

changes into l and the disc is locked.
