Introduction
Cautions /
FCC Compliance
The GPS system is operated by the government of the
United States which is solely responsible for their accuracy
and maintenance. The Global Positioning System and the
Differential Global Positioning System are under develop-
ment and are subject to changes which could affect accu-
racy and performance of all GPS equipment. Although
a GPS system is a precision electronic NAVigation AID
(NAVAID), any NAVAID can be misused or misinterpreted,
and therefore become unsafe. Use the GPS system at your
own risk. To reduce this risk, carefully review and under-
stand all aspects of this Quick Start Guide and carefully
compare indications from your output to all available
navigation sources including the information from other
NAVAIDs, visual sightings, charts, etc. For safety, always
resolve any discrepancies before continuing navigation.
FCC Compliance
The GPS 16 complies with Part 15 of the FCC interfer-
ence limits for Class B digital devices FOR HOME OR
OFFICE USE.  These limits are designed to provide reason-
able protection against harmful interference in a residential
installation, and are more stringent than “outdoor” require-
ments.
Operation of this device is subject to the following
conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interfer-
ence, and (2) this device must accept any interference
received, including interference that may cause undesired
operation.
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio
frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accor-
dance with the instructions, may cause harmful interfer-
ence to radio communications. However, there is no guar-
antee that interference will not occur in a particular instal-
lation.
If this equipment does cause
harmful interference to radio or
television reception, which can be
determined by turning the equip-
ment off and on, the user is
encouraged to try to correct the
interference by one or more of the
following measures:
· Reorient or relocate the receiving
antenna.
· Increase the separation between
the equipment and receiver.
· Connect the equipment into an
outlet on a circuit different from
that to which the receiver is con-
nected.
· Consult the dealer or an expe-
rienced radio/TV technician for
help.
