/ALCI

(appliance leakage current interrupter) safety device specifically engineered for
safety. It is for household use and may be plugged into a standard AC electrical
outlet (ordinary household current).
HOW ESP

The ESP

®

/ALCI safety device in this unit is built into the plug. This device will

make it inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as accidental
immersion in water. If the appliance is immersed in water, do not attempt to reset
the ESP

The ESP

®

/ALCI safety device is equipped with a test button so that its operation

can be checked.
TO USE (See Fig. A):
1. Press the Reset button on the ESP

®

/ALCI safety device.

2. Plug your hair dryer into an AC outlet then press the Test button. 
3. The Reset button will pop out. This verifies the safety device is operating

properly. If the Reset button does not pop out, do not use the unit. Return it
immediately for service.

4. Press the Reset button to reactivate the ESP

®

/ALCI safety device. Your hair

dryer is ready for use.

Repeat this procedure every time you use the hair dryer to confirm that the safety
device is operational.
SPECIAL ATTENTION
• If the unit detects an electrical shock hazard, it will immediately shut off. To

restore power, press the Reset button on the ESP

®

/ALCI safety device to

reactivate the circuit.

• This appliance is designed with a protective coating around the heating coils.

When operating the first few times, you may notice momentary smoking when
turning unit Off. This represents no danger to the user and does not indicate a
defect in the unit. The smoke should dissipate within a short time.

• Never block the air intake grille, as this will cause the unit to overheat. Should

this happen, a built-in safety system will operate, and the unit will shut off
automatically. Turn the unit Off and clear any obstruction from the air intake
grille. Wait 10 minutes before operating the appliance again. If the unit fails to
operate, it may indicate that the appliance has sustained extensive damage.
Do not try to repair it. See warranty for instructions.

• Never touch heating section as it may be hot and can burn you.
• To avoid possible scalp or hair burns, use very hot and fast setting only when

hair is wet. Reduce to lower heat as hair dries.

• Do not keep appliance directed at one place; keep it in constant motion. This is

especially important if drying a wig, which could be damaged by heat.

• For maximum airflow, hold dryer not closer to the head than six inches.
• To extend the life of the dryer, it is recommended to switch it to the coolest

setting for a few seconds before shutting it off.

• Untwist the cord from time to time to avoid tangling.
TO USE YOUR HAIR DRYER:
This dryer features two speeds and four heat settings. Use high heat/speed for
most styling/setting procedures and hair types. Select lower heat/speed for
drying and styling permed, color-treated or fragile hair. 
To adjust heat and speed settings, operate switches as follows:
• Both speed and heat switches in the Low (I) position for slow speed and 

warm air.

• Speed switch in Low (I) and heat switch in High (II) position for slow speed and

hot air.

• Speed switch in High (II) and heat switch in Low (I) position for fast speed and

hot air.

• Both speed and heat switches in the High (II) position for fast styling speed

and hottest air.

COOL SHOT™ BUTTON: Use  to set the style in place. Press the button until the
airflow becomes cool. Release the button and the dryer automatically resumes the
temperature and speed previously chosen.
Turbo Power Boost Button: The turbo power boost button is located above the
Cool Shot™ button near the top of the dryer handle. By pressing the turbo power
boost button the dryer fan speed will increase to generate more airflow for a short
period of time. The use of this button helps to decrease drying time. Press the
button and hold it for no longer than three minutes at a time. When finger is
released from the button the dryer will automatically resume the temperature and
speed previously chosen.
Ion Generator: This dryer is equipped with a built-in ion generator that
automatically generates negative ions when the unit is operating. It is ideal for
overall hair conditioning.
Adjustable Ceramic Styling Pik: Styling attachment adjusts to wide teeth or fine
teeth for shaping and smoothing. 

This appliance is permanently lubricated and will not require any  additional
lubrication. It contains no user serviceable parts.
CLEANING
1. Unplug dryer and let it cool completely before cleaning. 
2. Wipe the surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth. DO NOT LET WATER OR ANY

OTHER LIQUID GET INTO THE APPLIANCE. 

3. Clean intake grille with a small brush to remove lint or hair buildup. To remove

air-intake grille, grasp the top and bottom of the grille and pull off. To replace
grille, insert tabs into slots on the dryer and push into place. 

STORAGE
• Store dryer in a clean, dry place with cord loosely coiled. 
• Do not put any stress on cord where it enters the handle, as it could cause cord

to fray and possibly break.

Before returning unit for service: Clean the removable air-intake grille as well as
the fixed grille attached to the unit with a small brush or a vacuum cleaner brush
attachment. Then try to operate unit again.

enchufe. Este dispositivo no permite que la unidad funcione bajo condiciones
anormales incluyendo la inmersión accidental en el agua. Si la unidad llegase a
caer adentro del agua, no trate de reajustar el dispositivo de seguridad.

/ALCI tiene un botón de prueba para verificar si

está funcionando apropiadamente.
PARA USAR (Consulte la fig. A):
1. Oprima el botón de reinicio (Reset) del dispositivo de seguridad ESP

®

/ALCI.

2. Enchufe el secador a una toma de corriente alterna, luego oprima el botón de

prueba (Test).

3. Asegúrese que el botón de reinicio salte hacia afuera para verificar que esté

funcionando apropiadamente. Si el botón de reinicio no salta hacia afuera, por
favor no use la unidad. Devuélvala de inmediato para que la revisen.

4. Oprima el botón de reinicio para reactivar el dispositivo de seguridad

ESP

®

/ALCI y poder usar el secador nuevamente.

Siempre que use el secador, oprima el botón de reinicio del dispositivo de
seguridad para reactivarlo y asegurarse que está funcionando apropiadamente. 
CUIDADO ESPECIAL
• Esta unidad se apagará de inmediato si llegase a detectar cualquier peligro de

choque eléctrico. Oprima el botón de reinicio del dispositivo de seguridad
ESP

®

/ALCI para reactivar el circuito.

• La unidad ha sido diseñada con una capa de recubrimiento que protege las

resistencias de calor. Cuando opere el secador las primeras veces, usted
podría detectar la emisión de humo al APAGAR  la unidad.  Esto no representa
ningún peligro al usuario, como tampoco indica desperfecto en la unidad. El
humo se debería disipar en poco tiempo.

• A fin de evitar que el secador se caliente demasiado, no obstruya las entradas

de aire. En dado caso, un sistema de seguridad incorporado se activará, y la
unidad se apagará automáticamente. Apague el interruptor y limpie toda
obstrucción de la rejilla en la entrada de aire. Espere 10 minutos antes de
encender el secador nuevamente. Si el secador no funciona, es posible que ha
sostenido daño más serio. No trate de reparar el secador en casa. Consulte las
instrucciones de la garantía.

• A fin de evitar quemaduras, no toque el sistema de calentamiento del secador.  
• Para evitar posibles quemaduras al cuero cabelludo o al cabello, use la

posición y la velocidad más caliente sólo cuando el cabello esté mojado.
Reduzca la temperatura a medida el cabello se vaya secando. 

• No dirija el calor a una sola sección del cabello; mantenga el secador en

movimiento constante. Esto es muy importante especialmente al secar pelucas
que pueden dañarse con el calor. 

• Para lograr máximo flujo de aire, sujete el secador a una distancia no menor

de seis pulgadas de la cabeza.

• A fin de prolongar la vida útil del secador, se recomienda ajustarlo a la

temperatura más fría por unos segundos antes de apagarlo. 

• Desenrolle el cable de vez en cuando para evitar que se enrede.
COMO USAR SU SECADOR
Este secador le ofrece dos velocidades y cuatro posiciones para el ajuste 
de temperaturas. Use la temperatura/velocidad más alta para la mayoría de
peinados y tipos de cabellos. Seleccione la temperatura/velocidad baja para 
el secado y el arreglo de cabellos con permanente, teñidos o frágiles.
Para ajustar las posiciones de temperatura y velocidad, haga funcionar 
los interruptores como sigue:

• Ambos interruptores de velocidad y temperatura en la posición Baja (Low) (I)

para la velocidad baja y aire tibio.

• Interruptor de velocidad en la posición Baja (Low) (I) y el interruptor de

temperatura en la posición Alta (High) (II) para velocidad baja y aire caliente.

• Interruptor de velocidad en la posición Alta (High) (II), y el interruptor de

temperatura en la posición Baja (Low) (I) para velocidad rápida y aire caliente.

• Ambos interruptores de velocidad y temperatura en la posición Alta (High) (II)

para velocidad rápida y el aire más caliente.

COMO USAR EL BOTÓN DE AIRE FRÍO: Este dispositivo se utiliza para fijar el
peinado. Presione el botón hasta lograr un flujo de aire frío. Suelte el botón y el
secador ontinuará secando a la velocidad y temperatura seleccionada
anteriormente.
Botón turbo impulsor de potencia: El botón turbo impulsor de potencia se
encuentra arriba del botón de aire frío en la parte superior del mango del
secador. Al oprimir el botón turbo impulsor de potencia, la velocidad del
ventilador del secador aumenta para generar mayor flujo de aire por un período
corto. Oprima el botón y sosténgalo por espacios de tiempo no mayores de 
3 minutos a la vez. Al soltar este botón, el secador reasume automáticamente 
la temperatura y la velocidad seleccionada anteriormente.
Generador Iónico: Este secador trae incorporado un generador que produce
iones negativos automáticamente mientras está en funcionamiento.  Es ideal para
el acondicionamiento total del cabello.
Peine ajustable de cerámica: El peine estilizador se puede ajustar para utilizar
los dientes anchos o los dientes finos, lo cual es ideal para suavizar y darle
volumen al cabello. 

Este aparato trae lubricante permanente de fábrica y no requiere lubricación
adicional a lo largo de su vida útil. No contiene partes de utilidad para el
consumidor.
LIMPIEZA
1. Desconecte el secador y permita que se enfríe por completo antes de

limpiarlo. 

2. Utilice un paño suave humedecido para limpiar la superficie de la unidad. 

NO PERMITA LA PENETRACIÓN DE AGUA NI DE NINGÚN OTRO LÍQUIDO
ADENTRO DEL SECADOR. 

3. Limpie la rejilla de admisión de aire con una escobilla pequeña para remover

cualquier acumulación de pelusa o de pelo. Para retirar la parrilla, sosténgala
por las aberturas ubicadas en la borde, dándole vuelta hacia la izquerida y
retírela. Para retirar la parrilla, sosténgala por la parte the arriba y la parte de
abajo y sáquela. Para colocar la parrilla, introduzca las guías interiores de la
rejilla en las ranuras correspondientes del secador y engánche la rejilla.

ALMACENAMIENTO
• Almacene el secador en un lugar limpio, seco, con el cable enrollado

holgadamente.

• A fin de evitar que el cable se debilite y se rompa, no aplique presión excesiva a

la unión del cable con la unidad.

Antes de devolver la unidad para cualquier servicio o revisión: Por favor, retire la
rejilla removible de admisión de aire que viene sujeta al secador y límpie la rejilla
removible y la rejilla fija sujeta a la cubierta del secador con una escobilla
pequeña o use el accesorio de cepillo de la aspiradora. Luego encienda el
secador nuevamente para comprobar si está funcionando apropiadamente.
