Operating Instructions
• Switch the meter on
and remove the protec-
tive cap.
• Place the tip of the flat
electrode on the sur-
face to be measured
(skin or scalp).
• For best results, wet
the surface with dis-
tilled water or a neutral disin-
fectant.
• The supplied electrode can
also measure pH in liquids.
Immerse the tip of the elec-
trode (the bottom 2cm/1") into
solution. Stir gently and wait
until the display stabilizes.
• For best results, recalibrate pe-
riodically (see below).
• Do not be alarmed if white crys-
tals appear around the cap.
This is normal with pH elec-
trodes and they dissolve when
rinsed with water.
• NEVER IMMERSE THE ELEC-
TRODE UP TO THE CONNEC-
TOR.
• ALWAYS KEEP THE CONNEC-
TOR CLEAN AND DRY.
• After use, rinse the electrode
with water to minimize con-
tamination.
• Store the electrode
with a few drops of
HI 70300 Storage So-
lution
 in the protective
cap.
• Always replace the protective
cap after use.
DO NOT USE DISTILLED OR
DEIONIZED WATER FOR
STORAGE PURPOSES.
