KN-304 Quick Configuration Guide
■ When Using in an Environment Consisting of Windows 95/98 and NetWare
The setup procedure in the case of printing from a network using Novell NetWare is as described below.
Set up the KN-304 NetWare from the LCD panel of the Konica 7020.
Set up the NetWare print server function. This setup procedure varies according to the NetWare
version and resource management method.
Use PCONSOLE in the case of NetWare 2.x or 3.x.
Use NWADMIN in the case of using NDS with NetWare 4.x.
Use PCONSOLE in the case of using bindery emulation with NetWare 4.x.
● NetWare Setup of the KN-304
Select [2. NetWare Setup] from the [Network Setup] menu from the LCD panel of the Konica 7020.
When [2. NetWare Setup] is selected from the [Network Setup] menu, the NetWare setup menu is
displayed. Number keys corresponding to the menu are pressed to set each item. Press [Previous] to
return to the previous setup menu.
Server Name
Set the name of the NetWare print server provided with the KN-304. The default setting (initial
value) is “KON_nnnnnn(nnnnnn indicates its serial number)”.
Server Password
Set the password of the NetWare print server. No password is set for the default (initial value)
setting.
Queue Scan Rate
Set the interval at which the KN-304 searches for a new print cue over a range of 1 to 255 seconds.
The default (initial value) setting is 1 second.
Frame Type
Select the frame type used on the LAN from among the following choices. [1.Auto] is set for the
default (initial value) setting.
1. Auto
2. Ethernet 802.3
3. Ethernet II
4. Ethernet SNAP
5. Ethernet 802.2
