This appliance is for household use and may be plugged into any AC electrical outlet
(ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet.
IMPORTANT:
Never block air intake grille, as this will cause the unit to overheat. Should this happen,
a built-in safety system will operate, and the unit will start blowing cool air. At this point,
turn the switch to Off, and clear any obstruction from the air intake grille. Wait
10 minutes before attempting to operate the appliance again. If the unit fails to operate,
it may indicate that the appliance has sustained extensive damage. Do not try to repair it
yourself. Take it to an electrical service facility, or return it to the manufacturer. See
warranty for instructions.
SPECIAL ATTENTION:
This new appliance is designed with a protective coating around the heating coils.
When plugged in and operating for the first time, there may be a little momentary
smoking while this coating is initially heated. This represents no danger to the user and
does not indicate a defect in the unit. When using for the first time, allow the appliance
to continue running until the smoke dissipates. This should last only about 30 seconds.
To extend the life of the dryer, it is advisable to switch it to the coolest setting for
a few seconds before shutting it off.
HOW TO USE
Place dryer on a hard, level surface. Be sure it is at a comfortable height to open unit.
Push the twin locks located on each side of base at the same time, and lift hood straight
up and forward (Fig. 1). Then place one hand on the base to steady the unit, and with the
thumb of your other hand, fully depress the Tilt Control. While holding the Tilt Control,
pull hood forward until it locks in place.
To close unit, fully depress the Tilt Control and push hood back and down (Fig. 2).
To adjust the height of the hood, place one hand on the arm near the base and the other
hand on the arm just below the hood. Gently lift until hood is at the height desired (Fig.3).
Be sure switch is in the Off position and plug cord into an electrical outlet.
Tilt the hood upward by fully depressing the Tilt Control. (Fig. 4). This will make it more
convenient to be seated under the hood. Leaving the hood in the upward angle will
allow you to watch TV, read or speak with others. If you prefer, you may lower the hood
by fully depressing the Tilt Control and gently pulling down the hood.
Turn dryer on, use MAX heat settings for very wet hair, and reduce to lower heat
settings as hair dries.
REMOTE CONTROL: Lift the remote control cord storage lid, and pull out the remote
(Fig. 5). Turn on dryer so as you sit comfortably under the bonnet you can adjust the
heat to the level desired. MIN. to MAX. ranges from a cool 200 watts to a hot
1400 watts.
DRYING WIGS AND HAIRPIECES: Use the MIN. setting for drying synthetic hair and the
low heat settings for drying natural hair.
NOTE: The use of higher heat settings could damage wig or hairpiece.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety
feature, this plug fits in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit into the
