VRS User’s Manual

With Böwe Bell + Howell Spectrum series scanners, you have the option of selecting 

VRS in non-interactive mode at the time of installation. This mode is intended for 

users who do not wish to see the VRS user interface while scanning is in progress, 

even though VRS is running conveniently in the background. 

If desired, you can use the procedure in this appendix to switch from VRS non-

interactive mode back to interactive mode.

X To switch a scanner from non-interactive mode to interactive mode

Right-click on the VRS taskbar icon.

Select QC Modes | Hardware Warnings.

Select On Errors. Non-interactive mode will effectively be turned off.

In addition, you may go to the VRS Administration Utility and customize 

how you want VRS to respond to hardware problems. Refer to Configuring 

VRS Before You Scan on page 41 for more information.
