and Maintenance
Important: Read before installing
and retain for future reference.
General: Read all warnings and information on carton(s) and product(s). This trim kit is suitable for damp locations in ambient
temperatures of 25 degrees C maximum and is to be used only with those luminaires listed above. These instructions do not
attempt to cover all installation and maintenance situations. If additional information is required, contact your nearest Hubbell
representative for assistance.
Warning: Improperly installed fixtures can cause injury, shock, electrocution and fire hazards. Install and maintain with quali-
fied personnel to meet all applicable Codes and Ordinances. Turn power
OFF prior to installation or performing any mainte-
nance. Ground properly and use appropriate wire connectors. Input voltage must be matched to the appropriate ballast leads.
Follow lamp and other equipment manufactures' instructions. Installing electricians are responsible for evaluating local condi-
tions and ensuring safe operation. Never remove the 1/4-20 bolts to un-install.
General Installation Information
1. Recommended tools: 3/8" socket and ratchet.
2. Use 90 degrees C minimum supply wire and utilize the units' cable clamp to keep the wires away from the ballast.
3. Ensure existing housing does not leak from above and is secured properly to the canopy and can safely support the
additional weight of the retro-fit assembly. If not, seal and reinforce attachment system.
Installation
Note: Turn power
OFF prior to any work.
1. Open, remove and discard lens frame assembly from existing fixture.
2. Remove lamp, reflector, socket, and any hardware from housing's door flange.
Bend both end flaps against the housing (fig. 1).
3. If you are using the
existing ballast, extend the leads for the socket and an
additional ground wire approximately 5 inches below the canopy. If you are
upgrading the ballast system, disconnect the supply wires from the existing
ballast and extend those leads along with an additional ground wire approxi-
mately 5 inches below the canopy.
4. Place wires through UCT panel's wiring hole, hold panel against housing's door
flange and lock the two support arms (fig. 2). Note: Do not pinch wires.
5. Remove and discard Ballast Housing lid. Extend
matching voltage and ground
leads with enclosed wires and secure with housing's wire clamp. Note: Ensure
ballast voltage leads match the line voltage. Cap un-used leads.
6. Place wires over end wall, insert housing with wires facing the wiring hole through
the panel's opening and rest it on the support rails (fig. 3).
7. Fish wires through the wiring hole, complete the connections and push all wires
back through the wiring hole. Note: Wires should not extend below canopy.
8. Position and orient Lens Assembly with a
non-hinge/latch side facing the direc-
tion where there
may be a glare problem (reflectors can be adjusted down-
wards). Place the lead-in cone (fig. 4) into the ballast housings socket cone and
rotate assembly until the two bolt heads slide through the key holes. Rotate unit
clockwise until it locks into place; ensure the unit is
secured.
9. Push latch up and lower lens. Adjust alignment if necessary and tighten bolts
with a 3/8" socket. Ensure bolts are tight. Install lamp tightly and close lens
door.
