SPEAKERS B
• Playback is in 2-channel stereo when you select “SPEAKERS
B” only.
• When only “SPEAKERS B” is selected and the input source is
surround, “
2CH MIX” appears on the display.
• Selected speakers output sounds assigned to front 2 channels
when you make DVD ANALOG 6CH connections.
• If you select “SPEAKERS B” only, the following are set
automatically irrespective of settings selected in “Setting
speakers and their sizes” (á page 33).
Speaker size: “
LARGE ”
Subwoofer: “
NO ” (Bass is output from the front speakers.)
• Settings made through the auto speaker setup (á pages 22
and 23) are cancelled.
ADVANCED DUAL AMP (á page 37)
• The unit takes advantage of unused amps, and runs one
speaker with 2 amps when this function is on. ADVANCED
DUAL AMP offers you sounds that are clearer and higher in
audio quality than those available in normal playback. In 2-
channel stereo playback, 3 speaker amps drive front
speakers. The operation is called the triple amp mode.
2-channel stereo playback: Front, surround and surround back
speaker amps are used for driving front speakers (triple amp
mode).
5.1-channel playback: Front and surround back speaker amps
are used for driving front speakers (dual amp mode).
BI-AMP (á page 37)
• The unit takes advantage of the front speaker and the
surround speaker amps, and drives the speakers’ high-
frequency and low-frequency ranges separately when this
function is on.
• ADVANCED DUAL AMP is available with BI-AMP. When
combined, the two functions enhance clarity and audio quality
of stereo sounds.
• When you make bi-wire setting  (á page 20), both BI-AMP and
ADVANCED DUAL AMP take effect as long as overlap is
possible. In such case, ADVANCED DUAL AMP activates in
the dual amp mode.
Select “
OFF ” in “Cancelling BI-AMP (using the triple amp
mode)” (á page 34) when you wish to use the triple amp
mode.
