Before requesting service
î
If power goes out during recording or editing or if the unit is unplugged from the power
supply, the title can be lost or the HDD (Hard disk drive)/disc may become unusable. You
must then reformat the disc (HDD, RAM, -RW(V)) or use a new disc. No compensation is
provided for lost recordings or unusable discs.
î
Use a high-speed-compatible disc. Depending on the condition of the disc, even high-speed-
compatible discs may not allow recording at maximum speed.
î
Dubbing takes longer if there are a lot of titles.
î
If you are using another Panasonic DVD Recorder that is not compatible with the recording
mode [EP (8Hours)], you cannot dub titles over 6 hours long to a DVD-R, DVD-RW
(DVD-Video format) and +R at high speed.
î
When recording or high-speed dubbing to a DVD-R, DVD-RW (DVD-Video format) and
+R, the rotation sound is louder than normal. This is not a malfunction.
î
When recording to the HDD (Hard disk drive), set [Rec for High Speed dubbing]
in the SETUP menu to [On].
î
The HDD (Hard disk drive) is in SLEEP mode. (“HDD SLP” appears in the display of the unit.)
î
The unit is currently recording.
î
The unit is out of order. With the unit switched off, press and hold STOP and CH    and
CH    at the same time for approx. 5 seconds. Remove the disc and contact your dealer.
î
The procedure cannot be executed if the child-safety feature is activated.
Switch off the child-safety feature.
Access to the HDD
(Hard disk drive) is slow.
The disc cannot be ejected.
A recorded title is partially or
completely lost.
It is not possible to dub to a
DVD-R etc. in high-speed mode.
Dubbing even takes a relatively
long time in high-speed mode.
Unusually loud sounds coming from
the rotating DVD-R etc.
