î You can manually change the start and end time of TIMER 
programmes in the TIMER RECORDING menu.

How can I cancel a TIMER 
programming?
î
The "T" symbol appears in the TV Guide when a TIMER recording is 
programmed with the TV Guide system. To cancel a TIMER 
RECORDING programming, press PROG/CHECK
Select the desired entry and press CANCEL.

Cannot record.
TIMER-controlled recording is not 
working.
Part or all recorded programmes 
were lost.
The TIMER-controlled recording 
cannot be cancelled.
RECORDING 
î Check whether the inserted disc is suitable for recording.
î The disc is not formatted. Format the disc (RAM/DVD-RW).
î The write-protection device on the Cartridge is set to "PROTECT". 
Deactivate the write protection.
î If you activated the write protection, deactivate it in the DISC 
MANAGEMENT menu. 
î The material that you want to record is copy-protected.
î The TIMER programming is incorrect or different TIMER-programmes 
are overlapping each other. Correct the programming.
î The unit is in standby mode for TIMER-controlled recording.
Press    TIMER.
î Check the clock setting.
î If the power goes out during recording or editing or the power plug is 
disconnected from the power socket, the programme can be lost or the 
disc can be damaged.
î Press    TIMER during the TIMER-controlled recording.
î In the case of a TIMER-controlled recording via an external device, 
press EXT LINK. EXT L disappears.

î Some titles and chapter of DVD-Video are not played back if the 
Ratings have changed.
î The languages were not recorded on the disc.
î You may need to use the disc menu to select the languages.
î The language is not recorded on the disc.
î The subtitles are not recorded on the disc or are not switched on.
î The angle perspective can only be changed for scenes that were 
recorded in different angles.
î With the unit disc tray open, press and hold REC and PLAY/ x1.3 
simultaneously for at least 5 seconds.
Playback does not 
start.
No reaction when the button is pressed. 
î    appears on the screen. The procedure is stopped by the unit or the disc.
î The child lock feature has been activated.
The soundtrack/subtitle language does
