DVD lens cleaner

Compatible models:
Only for Panasonic`s DVD recorders.
Do NOT use this cleaner with any other
Panasonic DVD products or with the DVD
products of any other companies since doing
so may damage the products.
(RP-CL720E)
Only play round
discs.
Do not touch the
recording surface
of the disc.
Place the disc in the tray with the label
facing upwards. With double-sided discs,
place the side that you want to play, with
the label facing up.
Handling discs
If the surface of a disc that does not have or was removed from a
cartridge is damaged, scratches, dirt, dust or fingerprints can
compromise the recording, editing or playback. Such damage can
also occur when the disc is inserted back into the cartridge.
Cleaning DVD-Videos, Video CDs and CDs.
If the disc is dirty, wipe it with a moist and then a dry cloth.
Bad scratches and stubborn dirt may not be able to be removed
so that recording, editing or playback is still compromised even after
cleaning. The disc should then no longer be used.
Do not use benzine, alcohol, water, cleaning sprays, household cleaners
or other solvents.
Note: Only the label side of the disc may be written on. Use a soft oil-based felt pen.
Do not use a ball-point pen or other hard writing instrument.
Do not affix any stickers or labels to the disc. The disc can
warp and may become unusable.
When not in use, place the disc in its jewel case or
cartridge so that it does not become scratched or dirty.
Do not drop the disc, place them on top of each other and
never bang them. Do not place anything on top of the disc.
Protect the disc from dirt, dust, heat, humidity, direct
sunlight or strong temperature fluctuations
(since condensation can form).
Regional codes

(DVD Video only)
DVD Videos with the regional code 2 or ALL can be played with this
unit. The code is listed on the backside of the unit.
England and Continental Europe: 2.
This DVD Recorder is for viewing and recording free to view channels only,
not pay TV or encrypted channels.
Panasonic is not liable for direct or
indirect problems that result in the
loss of recordings or edited content
(data) and does not guarantee the
error-free operation of the recorded or
edited content. This also applies to
the startup of the unit (also concerns
components that are not connected
with the hard disk drive).
If you want to transport the unit
!
Switch off the unit. Wait until "BYE"
disappears from the display.
!
Unplug the unit from the power supply.
!
Only transport the unit when the HDD
has come to a complete stop (after
approx. 2 minutes) in order to avoid
damage from jolts and vibrations.
Your HDD (Hard disk drive) is a highly precise recording unit with a particularly long
recording capacity and a high recording speed.
Be careful with the unit, as it can be damaged easily.
!
Your HDD is a temporary storage medium. It should not be used for long-term storage
of recordings. Use your HDD for one-time viewing, for editing and for saving
recordings to a disc.
!
Immediately save all contents of your HDD to another medium (disc) if you
detect problems. Do not continue to use your HDD if you have detected problems.
In the worst case, you will destroy the HDD.
Please contact customer service about your unit.
Recordings made to a damaged HDD cannot be saved.
!
When turning the unit on and off or if the HDD automatically goes into SLEEP mode,
an unexpected noise can occur. The unit is working normally.
!
Do not unplug the unit from the power supply during recording or playback.
Data may be lost.
Recording time remaining on the HDD
This unit records with a VBR (variable bit rate) data compression system.
The length of the programmed recording is applied to the video data to be recorded.
Thus, there may be differences in the display of the remaining recording time and the
remaining recording length. If there is not enough space for a recording, delete old titles
from the HDD.
(The deletion of playlists does not increase the storage space!)
"HDD SLP (SLEEP)appears in the display
To increase the life of the HDD, it is placed in SLEEP mode if no function is
performed for more than 30 minutes and no disk is inserted into the drive.
!
Press HDD to activate.
!
If the
is in SLEEP mode, it takes a short time for it to start up again. Thus,
recording or playback does not start again immediately.
!
Always remove the disc from the DVD drive if you are not using the unit, so that the
HDD can go into SLEEP mode.
