Error Messages
10.1 Error messages – Reports
If a problem occurs during fax transmission or reception, one of the following messages will be printed on the sending 
and journal reports (page 43).

A line problem occurred. Connect the telephone line 
cord to a different socket and try again.

Remove the jammed document (page 95).
ERROR-NOT YOUR UNIT

A transmission or reception error occurred because 
of a problem with the other party’s fax machine. 
Check with the other party.
MEMORY FULL

The memory is full of received documents due to a 
lack of recording paper or a recording paper jam. 
Load paper (page 13) or remove the jammed paper 
(page 89).

If the PC fax setting (feature #442 on page 62) is set 
to 
ALWAYS”, check the connection between the 
computer and the unit.

If the fax preview mode (feature #448 on page 53) is 
set to 
ON”, view, print or save the documents on the 
web browser, and then erase unnecessary 
documents (page 53).
NO DOCUMENT / FAILED PICKUP

The document was not fed into the unit properly. Re-
insert it and try again.
OTHER FAX NOT RESPONDING

The other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out 
of recording paper. Try again.

The other party’s fax machine rings too many times. 
Send the fax manually (page 43).

The other party’s machine is not a fax machine. 
Check with the other party.

The number you dialled is not in service.
