Subject : Panagram, SMS interface software
The Panagram software enables the user to control SMS functions through an IBM
compatible PC. Users can send and receive messages through the software when the mobile is
connected to the PC with the RS232 interface, (model number EB-RS500). The software is self
explanatory and there is a help file to assist the user. However it has been anticipated that some
users may experience some minor problems. The following has been compiled as a trouble
shooting guide .

“No response from the mobile”

Ensure mobile is switched on.
Check connectors to PC and mobile.
Check condition of batteries in
Interface Cable.
Software starts with error message,
“Sorry, there is a problem with the
mobile” displayed.
SMS not available.
Check with Network / Service
Provider, that SIM / network
supports SMS.
Cannot send message, error
message, “The mobile is not in
service”.
Poor signal strength, signal quality.
Ensure Antenna fully extended,
move to stronger signal area.
Cannot send message, error
message, “Sorry there is a problem
with the network”.
Network communication.
Check Message Centre number is
entered correctly.
Try sending message again.
Check with Network / Service
Provider.
Cannot send messages when
roaming.
Network communication.
Roaming Network may not support
SMS.
Ensure Message Centre number
and sent number are entered in
international format.
Cannot send message, error
message, “Sorry, there is a problem
with the mobile”.
Mobile communication.
Send message again.
Check cable connections, check
network conditions.
Cannot send message, error
message, “The mobile’s SIM is in
use”.
SIM in use.
Ensure that mobile is in the idle
screen mode.
