Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Extension
Description
ISDN extensions include ISDN terminal units such as ISDN telephones, facsimiles or personal
computers which are connected to each ISDN (BRI) ports. A maximum of 8 terminal units can
be connected to each ISDN (BRI) port with point-to-multipoint configuration. However, only
up to 2 units can be used simultaneously. To user ISDN extension lines, an external or an
internal power supply is required. Terminal equipment can be addressed individually with
Multiple Subscriber Numbers (MSN). The MSN consists of the ISDN extension number and
an additional digit, 0 through 99. If MSN is not assigned, all equipment on the same ISDN
(BRI) port are called simultaneously.
