End-of-Sale (EOS) Announcement for
Cisco 2500— LOW-VOLUME MODELS ONLY
Cisco Systems is replacing only the low-volume Cisco 2500 series models. This product bulletin provides information regarding
product availability, the products affected, and substitute products.
*Please note that the following Cisco 2500 series models will NOT be impacted by this announcement:
Cisco 2501, 2503, 2507, 2509, 2511, 2514, 2520, and 2524
Reasons for the EOS of low-volume models:
End of sale on select models on the Cisco 2500 series is due to:
• Extremely low volumes indicate diminishing demand
• Component suppliers exiting business
• Memory constraints with the introduction of Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.0
• Substitute with New World, modular, multi-service 2600 series products
• Reduce complexity for manufacturing, support, and TAC
Product Substitution
In order to enable us to plan the EOS of these select models, we encourage account teams to place their final orders for these models
early.
