The magnet is used to indicate door position.  

Door position MUST be calibrated using the application.

Install and test lock with door open to avoid being locked out.

Search for “Schlage Engage” in the 

Apple App Store or Google Play Store to 

download.
Navigate to the website to set up your 

online account.

Install latch.

The bevel must face toward the door stop.
