6.  Starting your RN5 

a.  Push the battery switch ON.(Default status OFF), and then the main menu screen 

appears. 

b.  Tap Navigation, you will see the map screen displayed. 

c.  Please read the User’s Guide of Navigation software for the detail setting information. 

Please be noted, the first time turning on your RN5 may take some time to obtain a valid GPS 

fix.   

In the normal situation, unnecessary to reset your RN5. However, in the event that a problem 

cannot be corrected, you may reset the RN5 device by the following way： 

Hard reset：

To do a “Hard reset” Disconnect all cables, including the AC adapter, from your device.   

By sliding the hard reset switch on the primary ON/OFF switch on the back side of the device 

from OFF to ON position. 

     

NOTE：In some condition of charging NS-4102, if room temp. is over 35 degree C, PND might not be 

charged because of internal heat protection.    After a while, internal heat is decreasing, then NS-4102 can 

be charged again.
