Corel® PowerTRACE™ X4:  With Corel PowerTRACE X4, users 
can quickly and easily trace bitmaps, converting them into editable and scalable 
vector images. The new Centerline Trace method produces more accurate 
strokes and is perfect for tracing line drawings or signatures. To control which 
colors appear in the traced results, users can easily edit, merge, or delete colors 
on the color palette that is generated by PowerTRACE. In addition, improved 
smoothing and corner control help users optimize their traced results.

Using the Centerline Trace method
In CorelDRAW X4, click File

 Import.
In the Import dialog box, browse to the folder that contains a bitmap 
of a line drawing or a signature that you want to trace, select the 
bitmap, and click Import.
On the drawing page, click where you want to place the bitmap, or to 
center the bitmap on the page, click Enter.
Click Bitmaps

 Centerline Trace, and choose one of the following:
• Technical illustration — to trace black-and-white illustrations 
with thin, faint lines
• Line drawing — to trace black-and-white sketches with thick, 
prominent lines
If necessary, adjust the traced results by using the controls in the 
PowerTRACE dialog box.
