9.3 Communication settings 

The Communication settings view can be accessed by selecting 

More:Settings:Com or by clicking on the communication information 

on the Information bar. Transfer of information is only possible once a 

connection with a receiving hospital workstation (HWS Communication 

node) has been established. 
In the Communication settings view (see Figure 37) it is possible to 

select the HWS receiver in the Select receiver list. Communication 

can be switched On, Off or be transferred to a Reserve channel that 

can vary depending on whether the computer is docked or not. 

Therefore, MobiMed has four possible choices of modem configuration 

for active communication: 

Communication should be switched off in places where mobile radio 

communication is not allowed, e.g. in a hospital, by selecting Off in 

Communication settings. When communication is switched off the text 

message Communication off is shown on the information bar.

Important: 

Switch off radio communication if there is a risk of interference with 

medical apparatus. Remember to reconnect when the risk for 

interference is over.
