Ask your network administrator which option to select, and then click that option.

Type the name for this connection; the default is Virtual Private Connection.

On the Windows desktop, click Start>Settings>Network Connections. The Network
Connections window opens.

Click Next. The Network Connection Type page opens.

Note: If this is the first dial-up connection for your computer, you may be prompted to provide
some preliminary data. Follow the prompts until you return to the Network Connection

Click Connect to the network at my workplace.

Click Next. The Network Connection page opens.

Click Virtual Private Network connection.

Click Next. The Connection Name page opens.

In the Workplace box, type the name for this connection.

Click Next. The VPN Server Selection page opens.

Type the hostname or IP address of the remote party's L2TP server.

Click Next. The Connection Availability page opens.

For the Create the connection for option, accept the default, Anyone's use, or click My use
only.

Click Next. The Completing the New Connection Wizard page opens.
15.
If you like, select the Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop check box.
16.
Click Finish.
