The dwell time (the amount of time the transceiver is on one single channel) is variable. It 
depends on the packet length, and the data rate. For the longest packet length and the 
slowest data rate, the dwell time is shorter than 8.3ms. A full hop cycle takes at most 0.2158 
seconds. On any channel the master transmits independently that it has a new message to 
transmit or not. A slave unit will only transmit if it has a message ready. Between transmit 
activity and receive activity there are time gaps that allow the circuitry to change frequency 
and switch the mode of operation of the transceiver.
