A feature rich HDV VTR for professionals
In addition to providing HDV1080i recording and play-
back, the HVR-M25AE now features the HDV native
progressive format capability, which provides stun-
ning 1080p images at 24, 25 or 30 frames per
second.* Along with support for both DVCAM and DV
formats, the HVR-M15AE offers users the ability to
work with both standard definition and high definition
content.
The HVR-M25AE is also compatible with standard size
cassettes. The DigitalMaster -cassette can provide
over 4 hours recording of HDV content - the ideal
choice when longer recording times are required.
The HVR-M25AE is designed for professional use - and
includes a convenient, integrated 16:9 LCD screen for
content monitoring, and HDMI (High Definition Multi-
media Interface) for simple connectivity to HD con-
sumer displays for added flexibility. As with all HDV
products, the HVR-M25AE has the added benefit of 2
year Silver Support warranty - providing additional
piece of mind.
"24p" means "23.98p" video signal and "30p" means
"29.97p" video signal.

Features
HDV/DVCAM/DV Compatible
The HVR-M25AE, along with offering HDV 1080i re-
cording and playback now offers progressive record-
ing format. With this format, called HDV native pro-
gressive format, 1080p images at 24, 25 or 30 frames
per second can be recorded.
The HVR-M25AE enables users to play back 1080p im-
ages recorded with camcorders featuring this format
and to record with i.LINK input. DVCAM and DV re-
cording and play back for exisiting SD workflows is
also available, providing full flexibility to record and
play back either Standard or High Definition depend-
ing on production needs.
Dual-size Cassette Mechanism
The HVR-M25AE accepts both standard and mini size
HDV, DVCAM, and DV cassettes without using any
special adaptor. It allows for HDV recording for up to
276 minutes with a DigitalMaster™ Cassette - ideal
when longer recoding times are required.
Down-conversion Capabilities
The HVR-M25AE allows down conversion from
HDV1080i format. Analogue outputs (component/S-
Video/Composite) and the i.LINK interface can
provide a standard definition signal in either DVCAM
or DV if required.
50/60Hz Switchable
The HVR-M25AE is compatible with both 50 and 60 Hz
use - providing greater user flexibility to make and
edit productions on a worldwide basis.
HDV/DV IN TC
The HVR-M25AE is equipped with HDV/DV IN TC, en-
abling time code synchronization with external equip-
ment - ideal when dubbing tapes or recording to
tapes with material edited by nonlinear editing
systems.
2.7" 16:9 LCD Monitor
The HVR-M25AE has a 2.7" wide LCD panel enabling
operators to check 16:9 aspect pictures images, audio
level meter and set-up menu. The newly developed
"Clear Photo LCD plus" further improves the visibility
of previous LCDs, offering more detailed and colorful
photography of objects in dark or bright places. The
new colour temperature of 6500K ensures compatibil-
ity with other monitoring solutions.
HDMI Output
HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is a spe-
cification for the input-output interface of uncom-
pressed HD digital video and multi-channel audio, and
has become the standard for HDTV and other CE
devices. As such the HVR-M25AE can be easily con-
nected to such devices for added user flexibility.
