The EonStor A16F-G and the EonStor A16U-G single
RAID controller subsystems are the latest in
Infortrends highly acclaimed line of SATA RAID
products.The EonStor subsystem combines either
2Gbps Fibre (A16F-G) or Ultra 160 SCSI (A16U-G) host
channels with 16 SATA drives in a single storage
subsystem. This provides users with massive storage
capacity in a safe subsystem environment where a high
level of data availability is assured.The RAID controller
embedded in the EonStor RAID controller subsystems
ensures unprecedented data security for SATA RAID. The
two available models (see table) in these series provide
users with versatile options enabling them to purchase a
subsystem that will meet their needs.

The SATA models are able to use up to 16 SATA drives in
the subsystem. The availability of a separate dongle kit
enables a user to install PATA drives into the subsystem
providing a less expensive option for an economic yet
reliable RAID subsystem.

Architecture
Running on architecture trusted by the most demanding
applications, the subsystem is capable of a high level of
performance. Its 64-bit separate-bus backbone is built
around the dedicated XOR engines running at twice the
data bus speed. The calculation of parity and distribution of
data can be optimized with the free association between
individual logical arrays and different optimization modes.

bandwidth makes the subsystem's high data throughput
more than sufficient for small-to-medium sized servers or
workstations. Data can be distributed at the burst rate up to

eliminates all imminent bottlenecks on IO traffic, providing
sufficient throughput for a wide range of applications on
SCSI-based PCs, single-user workstations, NT, Linux, or
