Dual-Channel with Flexible
Connectivity
The LSI21320-R Ultra320 SCSI dual-channel
host adapter is ideal for workstations and
servers needing a high-performance boot
volume and connectivity to legacy devices,
tape backup, or external storage. The
LSI21320-R features two independent Ultra320
SCSI channels allowing a combined maximum
throughput of 640MB/s. With support for up
to 30 devices it offers incredible flexibility
in system configuration. The LSI21320-R
supports all previous generation SCSI devices
and is backward compatible to 32-bit, 33MHz
PCI.  This makes the LSI21320-R a great option
whether used to upgrade an existing system
or optimize a new workstation or server.

Based on LSI Logic’s Fusion-MPT (Message
Passing Technology) architecture, the
LSI21320-R provides outstanding I/O
performance while allowing extremely high
host processor efficiency.  Fusion-MPT permits
an exceptionally thin device driver that’s
common to all Fusion-MPT devices used in
a given OS.

OS Independent Hardware RAID (0,1)
LSI Logic Integrated RAID provides the
reliability and performance benefits of disk
mirroring (RAID 1) and striping (RAID 0).
Integrated Mirroring™ (IM) provides data
protection for the system boot volume by
simultaneously writing redundant data across
two to six disks.  This provides fault tolerance
and safeguards critical information. Integrated
striping yields enhanced performance by
aggregating the bandwidth of up to six 
disk drives.  Integrated Striping provides a
significant boost in applications where
maximum performance is essential.  LSI Logic
Integrated RAID is OS-independent and does
not require the use of special device drivers.
