Using the optional walking 
foot
With the walking foot, both pieces of fabric are fed 
evenly by the feed dogs and the teeth on the presser 
foot. This is useful when sewing fabrics that are hard 
to feed such as vinyl and leather and when sewing 
fabrics that easily slip such as velvets or when 
quilting.
Use the screwdriver to attach the walking foot.
■ Attaching the walking foot

Remove the presser foot holder.
• For details, refer to “Removing the presser 
foot holder” (on the previous page).

Hook the connecting fork of the walking foot 
onto the needle clamp screw.

Lower the presser foot lever, insert the presser 
foot holder screw, and then tighten the screw 
with the screwdriver.

Note
● When sewing with the walking foot, sew at 
a speed between slow and medium.
■ Removing the walking foot

Press

twice to raise the needle.

Turn off the sewing machine.

Be sure to securely tighten the screw 
with the screwdriver, otherwise the 
needle may touch the presser foot, 
causing it to bend or break.
Before starting to sew, slowly turn the 
balance wheel toward you and check 
that the needle does not touch the 
presser foot. If the needle hits the presser 
foot, the needle may bend or break.
