Upgrade bay (includes bezel and bracket)

Before removing the upgrade bay, follow these steps:

Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.

Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

Remove the battery (see 

Remove the service cover (see 

Remove the upgrade bay:

Position the computer upside-down with the right side toward you.

Remove the four Phillips PM2.0×4.0 screws that secure the upgrade bay assembly to the
computer.

Loosen the captive Phillips screw that secures the upgrade bay drive in the upgrade bay (1).

Use a flat-blade screw driver or similar tool to press on the upgrade bay bracket tab (2) to release
the upgrade bay.
