Graphic artists using a Power Mac G4 will benefit from working with multiple Apple flat-panel
displays by viewing QuarkXPress and Adobe Photoshop on separate displays, or by putting
document windows on one display and palettes on another.
Video professionals looking to work on projects anytime and anywhere can create a powerful
portable video editing system with a PowerBook G4 computer and Apple’s Final Cut Pro
software. Back at the studio, add an Apple Cinema Display to the system to view longer
timelines or increased thumbnail views in bins. Having an external display with a PowerBook
G4 or a second display with a Power Mac G4 can make you more productive when using
Maya, by Alias|Wavefront, to produce lifelike 3D visual effects or when working with video
and a music score simultaneously.
Scientists conducting field research can run database, image capture, and other applications
on a PowerBook G4 when working onsite. On returning to the lab, connect the computer to
an Apple flat-panel display to create a larger workspace for conducting detailed analysis of the
data. For example, users of Mathematica, from Wolfram Research, can simultaneously view
visual displays of data on one monitor and statistical analyses of it on another.
