S-VHS (Super Video Home System) ist ein verbesserter, abwärtskompatibler VHS-Standard.
Die 4polig Schnittstelle bietet gegenüber VHS eine bessere Bildqualität.
Die Helligkeitsinformation (Luminanz-Signal) und die Farbinformation (Chroma-Signal)
werden selektiert übertragen. Jedes Signal hat eine eigene Abschirmung.
Der Ton wird über ein externes Kabel (häufig Cinch) übermittelt.

S-VHS (Super Video Home System) is an improved, compatible follow-up of the VHS
standard. Compared with VHS, the 4pinS-VHS connector offers an improved picture
quality. The luminance (Luminance-signal) and the colour information (Chroma-signal)
are transfered selectively. Each signal has it`s own mass. The sound is transmitted by an
external cable (frequently RCA).
