Quick Setup Guide
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a StarTech.com 1U rackmount console.  This product allows you to manage one or more rack-mounted
computers using an integrated keyboard, mouse, and 15” TFT screen that slides into a compact 1U of rack space when not in use.

Installation
The RACKCONS is designed to integrate easily into any standard rack and works with PS/2-based KVMs and computers.
Connecting the Console
Once you have installed the RACKCONS in your rack, connect one end of the KVM cable to the keyboard, mouse, and video ports on
the back of the RACKCONS. Connect the opposite end of the cable to the console ports of a KVM (most common) or to the keyboard,
mouse, and video ports on the back of a computer. Connect the power adapter to the port on the back of the RACKCONS; connect
the opposite end to a power strip or other suitable power source.
Using the Console
You change the setting on the console using the following controls:
LCD I/O: Turns the display on (green LED) and off (red LED)
MENU and +/-: Activates the on-screen settings menu, and allows to you choose/adjust options.
AUTO: Automatically configures the LCD display to the optimal settings.
The screen will automatically power off 3 to 5 seconds after the lid is closed. The console keyboard also includes a set of quick-
access keys (Web, e-mail, etc.) that you can use if supported by the operating system on the computer(s) connected to the console.

Place the RACKCONS unit into your rack and
secure it with screws and nuts approved by the
manufacturer of your rack at the points noted
in the diagram (front and rear).
For an organized installation, you may also
wish to install the cable management bracket
(optional). Install the bracket on the rear posts
of your rack or enclosure immediately behind
the RACKCONS with the notched openings
orientated to the top of the cabinet. You can
then run the KVM and other cables through
the bracket.
