OfficeMaster - Connector for Online Services
Fax, SMS, and voicemail for online services using the local Active Directory
The Connector for Online Services enables users to send,
receive and manage fax and SMS with all the convenience
of their familiar e-mail client (e.g., Outlook). It also
makes it possible to play back messages on a PC.
When a message is received an e-mail is sent to the
mailbox. This mail is generated from a template contain-
ing all of the transmission information relevant to the
message type. The text of the SMS is embedded into the
e-mail, similar to the preview of the first page when
receiving a fax. Fax messages are included in full in the
attachment, and a setting for each user specifies whether
this should be in PDF or TIFF format. Voicemail is sent as
an MP3 or WAV file attachment.
When sending from Outlook, the appropriate fax numbers
are taken from its contacts list and inserted into the “To”,
“CC” or "BCC” fields. Of course, documents can be directly
attached to a message in the standard Office formats, or
as PDF files. OfficeMaster converts the message into a fax-
capable format (central conversion) for transmission with
the user's settings for (fax) header, stationery, signature
and cover sheet. The format for status reports can be
customized for each user.

the only thing that has to be customized is the fax number.

Thanks to the new Connector for Online Services, compa-
nies working with remotely managed mailboxes are now
able to operate fax and SMS without losing the features
available with the OfficeMaster for Notes or Exchange
Connector. The only functional limitation concerns the
voicemail system, which does not allow remote querying
without the necessary access rights to the mailbox. This
can however be achieved by storing the messages on the
server with the OfficeMaster Suite installation.
The Connector has been developed especially for connec-
tion to Exchange Servers on which transport or transmis-
sion connectors cannot be installed. This is also a re-
quirement in the Cloud, such as Microsoft Online Services
(Office 365).
The transmission and reception of messages can be set
up for TNEF (Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format) and
MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions), meaning
that the system can operate in environments with differ-
ent mail systems—even under Linux!
These software components are standard in OfficeMaster
Suite, and they can be operated as an alternative to the
other connectors with a basic license (e.g. Exchange Con-
nector, Notes Connector, SMTP Connector).
As always, any number of connectors can be operated in
parallel with optional extension licenses.
