Oggi e' difficile concepire una cucina senza
piccoli elettrodomestici: frullare, montare,
mescolare, impastare e tritare e' alla base della
preparazione di molti piatti. Tuttavia, mixer,
sbattitori e frullatori hanno origine molto
recente, intorno al 1920. L’antenato dei
moderni piccoli elettrodomestici è VitaMix,
un blender, prima manuale e poi con motore
elettrico. Tale prodotto acquisisce notorietà
alla fine degli anni 40 negli Stati Uniti. Nel
1949, in seguito ad uno spot televisivo di 30
secondi, e' il boom di vendite: la storia del
piccolo elettrodomestico e la sua evoluzione
tecnologica hanno inizio.

electrical appliances: blending, whipping,
mixing, kneading and chopping are behind the
preparation of many modern dishes. However,
mixers and blenders have origin not long time
ago and were invented only around 1920. The
ancestor of modern small kitchen appliances was
a blender, firstly manual and then equipped
with an electric motor. It was called VitaMix.
This product started to be known at the end
of the 40's in United States. In 1949, after a
30-second TV spot, the sale’s boom started: the
story of the small appliance and its technological
evolution began.
