The Cisco Unified IP Phone 7971G-GE can receive power down the LAN from any Cisco IEEE 802.3af PoE switch. Also, this phone
can be powered locally with a power supply. The phone does not support Cisco Prestandard PoE.

For added information security, the audible dual tone multifrequency (DTMF) tones are masked when the speakerphone mode is used.

The phone supports the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7914 Expansion Module.
