Symantec AntiVirus for Messaging provides 

high-performance, integrated mail protection against 

virus threats and other unwanted content for email 

traffic passing through multiple messaging solutions.

resource demands on the messaging server. Symantec’s

extensible NAVEX™ antivirus technology defends against

new and known viruses. With integrated LiveUpdate™ 

functionality, virus definitions can be deployed

incurring server downtime. In addition, the solution can 

be installed on or over the network on a separate server

running Sun™ Solaris™, Red Hat® Linux, or Microsoft®
