Plug in the power cord and turn on the system.

Select the RAID level you prefer by setting the switch on

the back panel.

    RAID 0 – Striping (Recommended for higher performance)

    RAID 1 – Mirroring (Recommended for data security)

After you turn the system on, you will need to press and hold

the INIT button to initialize the system. The N2050’s LEDs will

blink once, and you can then release the INIT button. If you

don’t notice the LEDs blinking, press the INIT button for 10

seconds and then release.

After you release the INIT button, the LEDs will blink again and

the N2050 will go into ready mode (refer to the LED chart for

LED descriptions).

For USB port connection, connect the included USB cable

to N2050 and your PC’s USB port.

For eSATA connection, connect the include eSATA cable

to N2050 and your PC’s eSATA port.

Warning: Depending on hot plug support of SATA interface on

your computer, w e recommend shutting down your computer

before plugging or removing the SATA cable.

it is the first time you are using the N2050,

you are using two new hard drives, or

you have not changed the hard drives, but have

 

changed  the RAID level

Please note that if you do not use the INIT button to initialize

the system, it will not be functional.

The first time you start to use N2050, or you have just changed

the RAID setting, RAID creation will start immediately. It takes

only several seconds to create the RAID.

When RAID creating process finishes, HDD 1 Power LED and

HDD 2 Power LED will be glowing blue.

WARNING: Changing RAID level will erase all of your data

stored in N2050. Make sure you back up all your data before

the operation.
