The  Magma  ExpressBox  3T  is  designed  to  match  the  throughput  established  by  Intel’s 

Thunderbolt technology and the majority of PCIe cards on the market today. The expan-

sion chassis contains three PCI Express slots connected to the computer through a Thun-

derbolt cable. Add one or more PCIe cards to Magma ExpressBox 3T and your Thunder-

bolt equipped computer turns into a powerful audio/video editing or scientific workstation. 
 

Developed  by  Intel®  and  brought  to  market  with  collaboration  from  Apple,  Thunderbolt 

technology is a high-speed I/O technology running at 10Gbps per second that brings to-

gether high-speed data transfer and high-definition (HD) display on to a single cable. High 

performance workflows are possible by connecting a Thunderbolt equipped computer to a 

Magma ExpressBox 3T containing PCIe cards for video capture, media transcoding, audio 

processing and fast data storage. And, because Thunderbolt is also based on DisplayPort 

technology, you can daisy chain a high-resolution display with your Magma ExpressBox 

3T.
