The Seek command initiates a seek to the designated track and selects the designated head. The device need
not be formatted for a seek to execute properly.
Output Parameters To The Device
Sector Number
In LBA mode, this register specifies LBA address bits 0
– 7 for seek. (L=1)
Cylinder High/Low
The cylinder number of the seek.
In LBA mode, this register specifies LBA address bits 8
In LBA mode, this register specifies LBA address bits 8
– 15 (Low), 16 – 23 (High)
for seek. (L=1)
H
The head number of the seek.
In LBA mode, this register specifies LBA address bits 24
In LBA mode, this register specifies LBA address bits 24
– 27 for seek. (L=1)
