It is possible to know the battery level of the receiver when it is turned on. 

The TEST LIGHT stays on for 8 seconds when the batteries are full. When 

the TEST LIGHT flashes for 8 seconds, the batteries are low and need to be 

replaced. If the TEST LIGHT remains off, the batteries are completely empty 

or are possibly installed in the wrong direction.

The receiver requires the use of 6 AA batteries (1.5V). 

The use of alkaline or lithium batteries is strongly recom-

mended. Insert the batteries as indicated, battery pola-

rity must be followed. 

Please note that the voltage of rechargeable AA bat-

teries  (1.2V)  is  insufficient  to  power  your  BLACK-

BOX™ receiver. We also recommend the use of new bat-

teries to ensure maximum performance of your device.

The receiver can also be powered from an external 12-volt DC input such 

as a 12-volt battery (KIT-12V, BATT-12V or KIT6V/12V) or a 12-volt adapter 

(AD-12V), each sold separately (p.36). During the installation of a 12- 

volt connection, the AA batteries can remain safely inside the receiver. For 

available accessories, see p.36. 

The receiver can be powered with a 12-volt battery combined with a solar 

panel SP-12V (sold separately, p.36) to maintain the charge of the 12-

volt battery (sold separately, p.36).
