WaveStation can be controlled using either USB-GPIB (for GPIB) or
USBTMC (for VISA) protocols. First, use the following steps to make a
setting on your WaveStation to receive the desired protocol. This is
described in the Main Utility Operations (on page 62) topic, however,
the quick location is provided here:

The USB-GPIB Setting is located at Utility → IO Setup → GPIB.

The USB-GPIB Adapter
You use USB-GPIB and USBTMC controls to remotely connect from a
PC to your WaveStation. If USB-GPIB is used, the USB-GPIB Adapter is
needed to make the connection from your PC to your WaveStation.

The USB-GPIB adapter connects the USB host interface on your product
to the GPIB bus controller and command set. The GPIB and USB on the

The USB connection provides all necessary power.
