When not in use, always keep the Meter in the supplied

Battery
Before you use the Meter for the first time, install the two
AA alkaline batteries included in shipment (see Battery
Replacement on page 38 for more information). The Meter
also operates on two AA rechargeable Li-ion (1.5 v) or
NiCd / NiMH (1.2 v) batteries.
