The Gryphon I Plus comes with two different interface models:  

•  A multi-standard interface for general purpose applications including host connections for USB (COM and 

Wedge Emulation), RS-232, Keyboard Wedge and Wand Emulation  

•  A multi-interface targeted at the retail market including IBM 46XX, USB POS and RS-232  

 

The Gryphon I provides patented “Green Spot” good reading feedback that represents an unsurpassed feature that is well 
accepted by the market. 

The Gryphon I reader offers a reliability package consisting of the following features: 
 

•  Over molded plastic/rubber enclosure to protect against unlimited shocks 

•  No moving parts or components for higher reliability 

•  Tested to withstand multiple 1.8 m / 5.9 ft drops to ensure no down time 

•  IP42 protection to help prevent contamination from dust and moisture:  

•  Resistant to particulates larger than 1 mm  

•  Resistant to water droplets such as light rain  

•  A 5 year warranty provides peace-of-mind in case of failures

The Datalogic Aladdin™ software configuration program is extremely flexible and intuitive and offers users the opportunity 
to manage the configuration of the Gryphon I reader and most other Datalogic Scanning handheld devices.  Aladdin 
allows resellers to configure the Gryphon I to be consistent with current configurations on both Gryphon D and the 
QS6500 readers, making this change transparent to customers. It is simple and easy to migrate existing customers to the 
new product.  

Because of its FLASH memory, the firmware of the Gryphon I reader can be easily updated in the field. The firmware can 
be downloaded via a serial interface maintaining an ‘up-to-date’ device.
